Start Measuring with How Big is a Lion

December 5, 2010

How Big is the Lion?
My First Book of Measuring

written and illustrated by William Accorsi
Workman, 2010
board book with attached ruler

Every page in this sturdy board book asks young readers to use the ruler (attached with a ribbon) to measure how big, wide, long, tall?  Like this page:

Can you measure
the pretty kites?
Which is longer —
the red or the white?

It’s an interactive story your child will enjoy while learning. The folk art illustrations are beautiful – made out of felt, buttons, lace, yarn, and string. And, the book comes with a growth chart for your child to hang up and measure his or her height.

I love this book for it’s unique illustrations and it’s educational value!

Book Play: Get another ruler and measure things around the house.
