Lavish Version of Puss in Boots

Puss in Boots
retold by John Cech, Illustrated by Bernhard Obserdieck

I love this version of the classic Puss in Boots!  Beautiful illustrations set the scenes of castles, giants and a clever cat in boots.

The story is the same classic with which you’re familiar. A poor miller dies and his youngest son inherits a cat. Lucky for the miller’s son, the cat is a crafty, talking cat who helps the poor miller’s son marry a princess and live happily ever after. (Sigh.)

Book Play:  Change the cat’s shoes. Instead of boots, how about snow boots? Dress up your stuffed animals with shoes! Tell your own story about a smart cat.

Read other John Cech retold fairy tales. Which do you like the best and why?
