Don’t Panic MORE Dinner’s in the Freezer

July 4, 2010

Don’t Panic, More Dinner’s in the Freezer
Revell, 2009

The concept behind Don’t Panic, More Dinner’s in the Freezer is to prepare meals ahead of time and freeze, giving you healthy, home-made meals in a jiffy.

If you’re like me and have no clue about the best freezing and thawing methods, do not worry — the authors explain everything. You’ll learn about freezing and thawing, how long food keeps in the freezer and what to store food in.

When you’re ready to try the technique, you pick your recipes, shop for ingredients and plan a “cooking day” to prepare the meals.

The recipes range from appetizers to soups to main dishes and sides. Download this free sample recipe for Four Cheese White Pizza.

Why is this method easier? Each recipe includes directions to multiply by three, six or nine. In the Smothered Backed Breakfast Burrito’s recipe, that calls for 12 eggs, if you decide to make six times as many, it tells you that you’ll need 72 eggs. No math required.  (But, a lot of eggs are.) So, let’s say you make this dish for breakfast. You’ll be able to freeze five more breakfast burrito dishes for later on — without any extra effort other than more ingredients. See how much time you’d save not to mention the convienence factor of having prepared meals in the freezer?

WIN a copy of Don’t Panic, More Dinner’s in the Freezer! E-mail your name to with “Dinner’s in the Freezer” in the subject line. We will randomly select FIVE lucky winners to receive a copy of the book. Deadline for entry is midnight MST on July 22, 2010.
