A Lesson For Lucy Goosy

May 9, 2010

Party Animals
written by Kathie Lee Gifford Illustrated by Peter Bay Alexandersen
Running Press, 2010
Picture Book + Music CD

Kathie Lee for kids? I thought not. Except my daughter really wanted to listen to the CD while looking at the book.

So, we gave it a try.

She listened to it THREE times in a row and loved it.

“I loved it,” my four year old said, “because she [Lucy Goosy] listened to the owl and they all had a celebration.”

Yes, Miss Lucy Goosy learns a valuable lesson from the owl — one that every child (and mom) will appreciate.

Listen to the music CD while reading or singing along in the picture book. The tune is kid friendly and catchy. Alexandersen illustrates delightful, colorful animals with personality.  It’s a keeper for the Taylor family!

Book Play: Invite all your stuffed animals to a birthday party for your favorite stuffed animal. Decorate for a party. Serve snacks. Sing “Happy Birthday” to the birthday animal. Sing “Party Animals” with the book and your animal friends.

WIN a copy of Party Animals! E-mail your name to deborah.mock@parenthood.com with “Party Animals” in the subject line. We will randomly select one lucky winner to receive a copy of the book. Deadline for entry is midnight MST on May 22, 2010.
