NOT THESE CLOTHES!” retorts the little brown-haired girl in Too Purpley. Yes, she knows what she wants to wear. And, it’s not something “Too Purpley!”

Unfortunately for her parents, this cutie pie kiddo can’t seem to find the perfect outfit.  Picky or refined fashion sense?  You be the judge.

“Too Tickly, Too Puckery, Too Prickly.”

Read on and you’ll realize that the illustrations make this book absolutely charming and dizzying!  In fact, I can barely read the “Too Stripey” page for all the horizontal, vertical and diagonal lines. The same goes for “Polka-Dotty” – it’s quite the eye-catching dotty experience you and your child will love.

“Too Slippery, Too Spotty, Too Zippery . . .”

Will our pig-tailed heroine ever find an outfit to wear?  We can only hope not too soon, so we can enjoy the story a little longer.

This is Colorado author, Jean  Reidy’s, first picture book. Look for her next book, Too Pickley in July 2010.

Nothing could be too purpley for my daughter. Purple is her favorite. But she has complained about too vegetably, too smelly, too sweetly, too wordly, too boyishly.
